Community seed swaps

Whether you are joining a Community Seed Swap or trading via the Online Seed Commons, please complete a Plant Variety Record for each packet of seeds (or other germplasm) that you'll be sharing. You can find this form, and helpful guidelines for completing it, on the "Using the Plant Variety Record" page. Other frequently asked questions are below!

It's a free gathering of community members who want to share seeds, and to rediscover great varieties for our region.

Who is welcome?

Everyone is welcome! Become a member (it's free).

How can I find out about upcoming swaps?

Become a member of the San Pedro Seed Exchange and we'll let you know about Community Seed Swaps in the watershed.

What kinds of seeds are welcome?

We accept open-pollinated varieties. See the Exchange Guidelines for more information.

How do I prepare for a community Seed Swap?

Check out the Preparing for a Swap page.

What if I don't have any seeds to swap?

No problem! We'll get you started with some seeds at the swap. You can save your seeds and share them next season!

Can I buy seeds?

No. We do not sell seeds.

Is there a fee to attend?

Nope, never. Consider making a donation at the event. The organizers have spent a good chunk of change out of their own pockets.

Do I need to RSVP?

Yes, you should register for the swap. If we know you're coming, we'll have enough seeds for you! Click on the registration form at left.

I can't attend. Is there another way to swap seeds?

You can share germplasm via the Online Seed Commons (sprouting soon)!
